Management of Information Resources at it Enhances Availability and Accessibility of Information in African University Libraries by Ima-M.P. Usoro & Eboro E. Umoren

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this write up was to explain management of information resources as it enhances availability and accessibility of information in African University libraries. The importance of management was explained together with the management junction of planning, organizing, staffing, supervising and co-ordinating. Each of these functions was discussed as a determinate to availability and accessibility of information resources. It was concluded that for information sources to be available and accessible, these management functions must be considered and applied accordingly. The paper recommends that the university librarian in collaboration with the
management staff of libraries should co-ordinate all the management variables adequately to ensure availability and accessibility of information resources in African University Libraries.
