Description
PREFACE / ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
This introductory book on broadcasting is structured with a solid theoretical base. It gives an insight into some of the major concepts of broadcasting. Examples are drawn from the Nigerian society. I share the view expressed by Robert Hirschman (1998) that “no book gets started from the idca stage to the printed stage without valuable assistance from unsung heroes and heroines.” To this end, I am grateful to God for the idea to get started in the right direction and stay on the track, the authors whose works I consulted and Professor Vincent Nyoyoko (DVC Administration and Head of Campus), Akwa Ibom State University, Obio Akpa Campus for his encouragement. Special thanks to my former
colleagues at the University of Nigcria, Nsukka. I do not forget Unyime Umanah for the pains he took in finishing the work.
Finally, I am indebted to my wife Jenny and my daughter Ini-Abasi, for making our home a home indeed for this work to be done.
