The dynamic nature of the theatre as an art form presents it as a veritable facility for addressing certain educational issues. Top among these issues is the issue of poor learning abilities among youths. For motivation of effective learning therefore, the paper proposes the use of drama which serves as a catalyst for the enhancement of classroom discussion and activities. Applying dramatic approach to teaching and learning revolutionizes the classroom operations, places the students at the centre and in the position of making decisions on issues that affect their academic performance. The paper assesses the need for a drama-based curriculum; it also points at such factors that possibly affect the use of drama in the classroom. The paper concludes that education through drama offers the most convenient approach for a qualitative classroom experience.
