ABSTRACT
This study investigated the implementation of technology education for national development in Akwa lbom State. The sample consisted of 70 technical teachers randomly selected from the technical colleges and secondary schools in Akwa lbom State. A survey design was used for the study. The results showed a significant difference existing between the adequacy of technical textbooks in use in technical colleges and secondary schools.
The results also showed an insignificant difference existing between the number of technical textbooks available for use in technical colleges and secondary schools. The results also indicated a significant difference existing between the uses of technical equipment in technical colleges and secondary schools. Also, the results indicated an insignificant difference existing between the number of technical equipment available for use in technical colleges and secondary schools. Conclusion from the findings led to the recommendation that efforts, should be geared towards the provision of equipment and textbooks necessary for enhancing technology education programme in Akwa Ibom State.
