Habir: The Translator’s Contribution to Literacy with a Biblical Bias by Effiong Ekpenyong

ABSTRACT

One cannot overemphasize the overall importance of literacy among people and that of the reading culture or habit, which is the immediate benefit of the former, generally speaking. However, reading a text such as the Holy Bible in particular must not be done randomly, but systematically, deploying appropriate techniques in order to avoid unpleasant consequences such as erroneous and divergent interpretations and viewpoint, and offers the Holistic Approach to Bible Reading, (HABIR), as the panacea.
Due to its scope, the social constructivist model, which is an interactive model with the text, is used as methodology.
